Google Earth Hits One Billion Downloads

With the one one-billionth download of Google Globe, Google has proved, if nothing else, that we human beings love to examine our personal planet.

Google proclaimed its same billion download milestone on its LatLong web log on Wednesday. This milestone includes the desktop client, mobile apps, and plug-in. To celebrate, Google has launched a Website called OneWorldManyStories.com, which highlights how citizenry have used the worldly concern mapping software done the years.

1 story describes how the HALO Trust taps Google Worldly concern to facilitate clear landmines across 12 countries. Another story describes how a professor in Johannesburg used Google Earth to map antecedently-unidentified cave sites and fossil deposits, leading to the find of well-preserved hominid skeletons.
